For most folks, some NyQuil, with or without the backbone will suffice.
For a lot of people, the shot is essential. Influenza kills a lot of people each year. For those with weak or compromised immune systems (the elderly, infants, or sick folks in general) the flu shot keeps them from becoming too ill.

pending on the individual - I never got the Flu shot and I never gotten sick and if I am I do the Nyquil and vitamin thing

at this point I would do the nyQuil song and dance too....i love nyQuil.
i'd say a couple bottles of crown royal, and a little 'backbone' in the form of, say, 30 units drawn through cotton works for me.
