Why don't smokers?!
Question: realize how OFFENSIVE they smell to the rest of us? And if they drink coffee AND smoke - their breath is really FOUL!! I have a SMALL office and if a smoker is in it for just a few seconds, I have to spray air freshner like crazy after they leave. Do they really not know how bad they smell or do they just not care?!?

i dnt know whether they knw or no ..but i agree they soooo stink!!!!..and hey whats so rude abt speaking the truth!!!....aren't they uncouth when they cause others disgust by their stink!!!

I only smoke outdorrs, and NO ONE in my home life knows I smoke, mints and perfume do the trick=)
and rude you are, maybe your breathe smells for a different reason, and people don't want to offend you by being rude!

some people i know try to cover the smoke smell with cologne and it got even worst
They don't realize that odor about them. I am an exsmoker having quit in July from a 43 yr. stint with smoking. Now, I can smell it...it isn't wonderful. But, I really didn't understand how offensive and sour that smell is until I quit.
They know it's offensive just like your nasty perfume is offensive.

Well a smoker sense of smell is pretty bad, smoking lessens the effectiveness of the nose, so they probably don't realize how bad they smell.... Plus if you wear a coat everyday and don't wash it a lot it starts to smell like stale cigarettes...
I too have quit (passed the one year mark last month) I really did not realize how terrible it was until I quit.
ps and the cheaper the cigarettes the more they stink

I'm in the process of quitting smoking,and I'm gone quit it too.i got the courage and the ambition to do it and as long as i set my mine to it,i can do anything i want and that's the number one priority on my list right now.
We all have our habits. That happens to be theirs. Im sure you do things that get on other peoples nerves as well. There isnt anyone that doesnt. I constantly tap my foot, and it bothers some people. I cant help it though.
ya know, i tend to agree that the smell of smoke is yucky...but u my friend are just plain rude.
i find perfumes and scented lotions to be extremely offensive as well, but i don't go around ranting about that.
have u ever walked into and old person's house? that smells too. Smells are part of the world around you. Live with it.
Their immune to the smell so it doesn't seem like the scent is strong to them as it is for those who don't smoke. I feel you on that subject, there's a lot of smokers on my job.

Funny, I was just going to ask if some people realize how annoying and self important they are too! But I guess as long as you are perfect in any way and have absolutely no annoying habits, then you have every right to complain. To me, spray air freshener is at least as obnoxious as cigarette smoke. Did you ever look up the ingredients in that aerosol can, and read up on how harmful to the environment they are?
My opinion is they just don't care! It's their addiction and they see nothing wrong or offensive!

most smokers dont realize it to the extent a non smoker does of the smell potency because not only are they always around the smell they have gotten used to it. they also lose their sense of smell to a small degree along with taste. ask anyone that smokes do certain things taste as much as they did before they started and those that are not in denial will admit to the lack of taste. taste and smell are linked and if 1 is hindered the other isn't as responsive.

Constant exposure to a smell can desensitize a person to it. I quit smoking a while back, and now I know how foul the smell of cigarette smokes is. While I was smoking, however, it didn't phase me because I was constantly exposed to the smell of burning tobacco. My hands smelled of it, my clothes smelled of it, and because I smoked in my car, my car smelled of it also. When you experience something through the senses for a prolonged period of time, you simply stop paying attention to it.
Well as a smoker I take what you are saying to be offensive...Did you realize that I don't WANT to smoke or smell bad, but it is an addiction? I am addicted...I have tried to quit...its easier said than done. I think you should realize you have no tact. You are ranting on a subject you have NO RIGHT to have an opinion about. I DON'T smoke around people who I know don't like it, out of respect, but it is MY problem and I struggle with it everyday. If you start spraying air freshener after a smoker walks by you then you are the rudest most offensive person I have ever had the pleasure of speaking to. Just so you know, I DO care, but it is not something I can fix right now. I keep gum and body spray with me at all times, simply because I don't want to stink!! I am tired of being nice...YOU ARE A BIATCH! Every one has an opinion sweetheart and mine is...that you STINK! Your attitude stinks, the way you think you are better than others stinks, the fact that you would embarrass someone in your office by spraying air freshener stinks, the fact that you are trying to put people down because at one point they made a mistake and now will have to pay for it for the rest of their life, STINKS!! *****It is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt****
You my dear are a twit...do you honestly think that smokers think they smell good, or what they are doing is right?? Oh and by the way, smokers have very few rights. We have been pushed into corners and forced to go elsewhere. I don't think what I'm doing is right, and I am not on the defensive, I just want you to see that you are not going about this the right way, and from the way you described, you are talking about CUSTOMERS that are coming into your office that have smoked before they went in...correct?? The same customers that pay your salary? The same customers that make sure you have a job? I think you need to redirect your anger somewhere else!! There are SOO manythings in this world that need to be fixed, and worring about how a smoker smells just showed the world how shallow you really are. Thanks!!
