Question: To clarify: Are people who get married in a courthouse more likely to end up divorced than say a couple who has a huge wedding and vice versa? What are your thoughts? Does the type of wedding you have foretell the fate of the marriage or have any bearing on it?

Hmmm every registry office wedding I have been too...they got divorced.....makes you think. Good question. I didn't think it would matter where...but you have me wondering.
I don't think so! It is the people who get married who make the marriage not work!
not that i know of. however, i always see the people who have big expensive weddings get big expensive divorces. and my parents got married in a court house, they'll be married 23 years this december.
My instinct tells me that the type of wedding is irrelevant to the outcome of the marriage. But I have no evidence.

I would have to say no I had a small intimate wedding (ie courthouse) and my good friend had a big hugh wedding and we have both been married (to different men) for 20 + years.
It's not about how much you spend on the wedding as much as it is how much you are willing to spend (emotionally) on the marriage
No I don`t think so. I got married in a registry office 28 years ago and we`re still going strong. I personally don`t believe in spending too much money on a big expensive, elaborate wedding. It all means the same thing at the end of the day.
