What happens to Pet Shop Animals if they are not sold....?!
Question: I believe they are sent to second chance shelters, which is why it is possible to find pure breds in shelters. Some are also sent to breed specific shelters. If they are not sold after being put on discounted prices.

Sadly, they are either put into shelters or given away to anyone who will take them. Sometimes they go back to the mill to be bred. I NEVER buy I always adopt.

i used to work in a shop selling fish, reptiles, amphibians etc ... and we used to keep all the animals like pets till they were sold
They keep them until they do sell

This is a very good reason for not buying an animal from a Pet Shop.
The poor things usually come from puppy farms etc., and if you buy you are perpetuating the demand.
Take a look at your local dog home and give some joy to an unwanted animal that really needs a good home.
Purely my opinion.
