Why do they?!

Question: swab your arm with alchohal before giving you a lethal injection in prison

Answers: swab your arm with alchohal before giving you a lethal injection in prison

LoL!! great question & great point..it's not like the person is gonna get an infection & die from it. HA HA HA O=)

I wonder that myself!! =D It's not like they are saving you from getting an infection. They are fixing to kill you wtf??

...They do? How ironic. Maybe it's an excuse to get a last dose of alcohol.

i think so.. that's pretty weird, hm?

The prisoner might get infected and die again.

i believe it is ironically so it doesn't hurt as much and you don't bleed or whatever

interesting.......

Just part of the protocol. You can't start doing things differently just because the person is going to die - there are procedures in place for a reason, you know!

Good question, Why do we even do lethal injection? We should just shot them in the face!!!

>it is tradition?
>bacteria may affect the chemical property of the lethal injection?

Why do you ask, Mafia Princess?

That's a question I've never even thought of! I need to know!!

very old question, but maybe the reason is even with the needle in the arm, there is a possibility for a stay of execution. If the alcohol wasn't applied in this situation, the arm could get infected, and lead to health problems for which the state would be responsible.

well, they're trying to make the murder seem more humane of course.

Real Answer - It helps you find the location of the artery to put the needle in.

because they have to keep it humane!!!!!!!*

I've just excepted that as a question I will never know a true answer to. My ex boyfriend was in prison and one time he asked a gaurd and the gaurd just ignored him and this was a gaurd that normally would talk for hours with the inmates he liked.

I didnt know that just now...really?
If that so..that must be useless because the candidate will die very soon

maybe so you don't get infected

That's funny. Guess its a habit of a good health care worker.

Because the one who is administering the injection is a qualified "doctor" (of death, lol), it would be considered malpractice and un-hygenic of the doctor, which is illegal and would be means to have his license(s) revoked.

Remember the one that was injected but would not die? Well, if he (or anyone) was granted an extra day of life and die of an infection, well, you know the rest. There'd be a huge uproar, blah blah blah. You know damn well the lawyers would be after them!

I think it is because it is really in humane to not

LOL
