Hiccups Causes

Many conditions are associated with hiccups, but none has been shown to be the cause of hiccups.

If you eat too fast, you can swallow air along with your food and end up with a case of the hiccups.
Any other practices that might irritate the diaphragm such as eating too much (especially fatty foods) or drinking too much (drunk people hiccup) can make you prone to having hiccups.
In these instances, your stomach, which sits underneath and adjacent to the diaphragm, is distended or stretched. Because they occur in relation to eating and drinking, hiccups are sometimes thought to be a reflex to protect you from choking.

I usually have a hiccup after eating but I don't really know.

when you eat too fast

air in your diaphram i think.

Eating or drinking too fast can cause this. Actually, it is an air bubble that is causing it. If you eat or drink too fast, you will get an air bubble and get hiccups. I have gotten them for no reason at times. And mine get so bad that my sides and stomach hurt--and nothing seems to get rid of them other than time.

Laughing wat to much and pop

usually it's when u r eating or drinking and swallowing too much air in the process like doing either of these things too fast. I usually take small sips of h2o quickly and it seems to help. Others go for the traditional holding ur breath or scaring someone. good luck

Hiccups can be triggered if you eat too much or too fast, consume very hot or cold foods and beverages, or drink carbonated beverages. Other causes include cold showers, entering or leaving a hot or cold room, sudden excitement, and stress.

Alcohol.
