Whats wrong with people these days......?!

Question: why do some people think they have the right to decide if a person should live or die?
if you see someone laying on the ground not moving would you phone for an ambulance even if you knew that person was addicted to drugs?
i ask as on my way home from the gym today this happened to me.
i knew the guy as we went to the same school.
everyone was looking at him and saying he deserved to die and didnt bother to call for help so i had to.
he is usually such a lovely guy but he has just lost his way and fell in with the wrong people.
why do we hate being judged but are quick to judge somebody else?
we are all the same.
we all deserve a second chance at life.

Thats such a shame Samantha , i had the same thing happen to me about 20 years ago . some guy i knew was laying in a pool of blood after a fight and not one person called for an ambulance , so i did .

Its not a nice thing to see , but some people out there dont give a rats *** .
You did the right thing my friend , you carry on doing it

Have a nice day Samantha

some people are jus crazy like that..
blame it on temporary insanity..
you did good though by callin for help..

I couldn’t just watch whilst another human being was dieing, I would be straight on to 999 to ring for an ambulance.

Thats screwed up. How anyone can say someone who lost their way into a life of drugs deserves to die and would do nothing to help, i just dont get it.

Its one thing if he was a child molester, I could understand it then.

I use to care if people lived or died, I don't really think I do anymore, but that's just people. You could be addicted to drugs, or just be someone who is easily offended. Although I have to admit even I if i saw someone dying right infront of me I'd have to call for help. regardless of who or what they were, I just don't think I'd care about the outcome.

You are absolutley right about that.

Everyone falls in hard times at least sometime in their life. We should always help each other when in need.

Unfortunelty this society doesn't care much anymore. We are all too busy to worry about anyone else but ourselves.

i don't understand people like that either. i would help anyone regardless of who they were. how hard is it to call for help, anyway? i'm glad you did the right thing.

Your words are so true. We judge ever day of our lives and would hate the same to happen to us. What can be done about it? That poor guy. Such a waste.

Sure you would not be like that, always do what you believe to be right,

It may be hard for you to accept, but people would rather hear a lie than the truth, the reasoning is the truth hurts worse than a lie. People would rather see you fail than succeed, their reasoning behind this is jealousy and fear, people are are always jealous and fearful that someone may get one step above them, or become more successful than they, they can deny it, like they would any subconcious addiction or illness, but sub-conciously they cannot deny it, such is the instinctive cancer of our primitive brains.

Thus is the basis of their judgement, a feeble attempt to vindicate themselves to make themselves feel superior to another, ignoring their own iniquities at the benefit of watching another suffer or causing them discomfort or pain. We are all susceptible to this psychological disease, it leads to all points negative, and it can and has stem'ed into racist views, and worse case scenario violence.

Humans love to watch eachother suffer, so long as the victim is not one of their own, just turn on the TV and see the suffering for yourself, take a peak into the window of the human soul, this disease is rampent through all society's and none are immune to it's influence. It is our babaric instincts that rule our instinctive thought patterns and that which influences our decisive judgements of what we believe to be righteous.

No matter what good deeds you do for your fellow man, they will eventually hate you for it, because it impede's and belittles them as being weak and inferior. They will always judge you, and point their accusing fingers. Just remember, to question the three fingers pointing back at their own iniquities.

Its sad that people are like that, But at least you was there to phone for help. People should not judge one another, but they do. Maybe one day they will stop and realize that everyone is human and have feelings.

As much as I hate drug users I wouldn't just walk away and let someone die. I wouldn't do that to a dog so why would I do it to a human being? Your right everybody deserves a second chance but he has to be willing to get the help he needs!! How would those people that wouldn't help feel if it was a loved one of theirs would they still watch him die and feel the same way? I think not! Thank God for people like you. You did a great thing and may have saved a life.

Somebody on here asked a Question Yesterday,She said it would be the best to give all Drug Addicts an Overdose.I did not agree with her,and now she has blocked me.
My younger Brother took Heroin for 1 Year,10 Years ago.He went to Re hap,and has not touched Drugs since.
He has a beautiful wife, and lovely Son.
He got a Chance in Life, and if you would meet him,you would not believe ,that he ever took Drugs. He is so friendley and warm hearted.I am so happy, that he made it,because he is my favourite Brother, and i am very proud of him.

That's just the kind of fooked up society that we live in babes....

Remember my sad motto..."people suck" !

Well done by the way for giving a monkeys about him. This is what infuriates me, people will never help but they find the time to stand around to see the outcome! I cannot imagine what must have been going through his mind knowing he needed help and looking up to see a load of useless nosey good for nothings simply staring back at him. I remember about a month ago, I heard a news report about a woman who was dying in a doorway and some idiot came up to her and amongst other things, urinated on her whilst she lay dying claiming it to be a 'good video for You Tube', and people stood by and let him do it to her! You are right, everyone deserves a second chance regardless of who or what they are.

A lot of people go into a kind of trance at the first sign of a crisis because its out of the ordinary.Remember, most of the people in the world just get on with things and dont want to be bothered with anything. You did a good thing and you should be proud of yourself and dont be too hard on others. It takes courage to do things. You are different.Good on you!.j

I bet there was some idiots taking photos on their phones. Sick, sick society. Glad you helped him, the least someone could have done was phone 999, they wouldn't even have to get their hands dirty.

Well done to you for helping!! Its a shame more people arent like you xx I would definitely stop to help and not just walk past xx

omd that is a horrible thing to do! i could never not phone a ambulance or not help him let alone have the nerve to stand and watch.

wow! i would have done the same thing. people are so sad it is up to people like you and I and any one else like us to make this a better place to live not for ourselves not for some kind of reward but for the next generation

Some people are scared to get out of their comfort zone and help others which is sad
I was at a set of traffic lights with then my small children in a major town there was about 4 lanes of traffic
..anyway as you do you look around I saw a man lying just off the side of the road not moving an elderly couple were in the car across from me they saw him too as did about 30 other people ,but only me and the elderly couple jumped out of our cars and went to check on this man who by the way had knocked himself unconscious from a severe seizure
I called an ambulance and the elderly couple stayed with him until the ambulance took him away I walked back to my car which was holding up traffic to get told I was holding up traffic, and to hurry up
People need to stop judging other, as who knows one day you may need the kindness of a complete stranger

people in the world don't get involved now a days such a shame i am to helpfull i help older people cross the road carry bags for them and pop in to see if the lady over the road needs any help as she is 90 and her family don't care about her you keep doing your best and you will be a angel.

Sam, It is awakening thought of the day that you have put forward.

No body is bad from his or her birth. But these are circumstances which make or break somebody. Nobody has the same luck, but also at the same time, not every body have the same courage to take on life's sorrow's. The people with low emotional strength or sometimes the circumstances make them so weak that they are not able to face the bad times in lack of good support.

But yes, it is true that everybody is capable of changing themselves. There are so many examples in the history or even in the modern world that people have transformed completely. So judging a person that he and she cannot change is myth.

Proper support & strong will and transforming experiences can change the life of the person.

Who knows, this person, may learn a lesson from this experience and with proper medical support, he is able to transform himself fully. Probably, he will not ever know about your help to him, but atleast you have a satisfaction in your mind that you were able to help somebody.

I urge everybody including me that we should stop judging the person and instead we should contribute in some way for welfare of mankind.

Thanks for raising this issue on Yahoo Answers.

People just don't think Yea, I agree. We all deserve a second chance at life, but not everyone thinks that. As soon as you do something bad, well uh-oh, everyone hates you. But they pretty much teach us that in school. It's called thinklose-win. When your not in one group you are automatically stereotyped into something your not. Those people that were just watching, didn't help him either because they were shocked, or just didn't want anything to do with it. Lots of people get addicted to drugs. It's only half their fault, those people should have known better. No one deserves to die just because they choosed the wrong path.

Yeah that's pretty jacked up. Some people are just heartless and they don't understand the value of human life. No matter who he has become, he is still a person that deserves to be treated as an equal. It's so sad.

It's a harsh reality that so many people just don't care, or their so numbed to situations like this. They think nothing of seeing someone being robbed or someone bleeding to death on the street. We are all humans here and we have the ability to do what is right.I think what is missing is the moral compassion. It is good to hear that there are still people that when called upon can still do what is right. I hope you have a good day.Thank God for the few that still care.

Schadenfreude at its lowest.

Thank you, you are a good samaritan. You
showed them. I hope you chewed them
out with a few choice words.

that is very sad, people are selfish and not nice.....i'm sorry this happened to you
?
