I think the problem is to make it general, not all women say that, and not all women do that.
I do have women friends, and I get along with them, as well, why do we prefer men as friends? ... because is simple, the things usually for some men are either white or black, but no middle colors ... for some women there is a problem and thousand solutions, there is the white and the black and the thousand of colors in the middle.
Even when I'm a woman, I realize that makes some women more complicated to understand, but when you understand one of these "complicated women" then you have a best friend, a lover, a partner for lifetime, if not... then perhaps the only you can see is "mean and nasty..."
Try and see the complete colors of the rainbow :)

I get along fine with women as long as they stay clear of my man...don't put out any bad vibes and want to sleep with me at least once a week....I don't know what everyone elses problems are....as for men getting along with women...just remember give us our way and we give you yours....
