just buy a few bags of balloons - blow them up and let the kids play with balloons for the party. get christmas colors for a christmas balloon theme.
waddle races, keep it on a spoon the longest, rub it on your head and stick it to the wall......
If the kid is young enough, just dont tell him its his birthday
Gets lots of modeling balloons , let them do what they want with them. Limbo.... just get a stick and play music and have competition for who can go under .... works ....
I can remember when my daughter and my neice and my little brothers birthday came , we would usually have a group cookout where we would invite everyone from their friends to our friends and my mom's friends and have a big celebration. (Now keep in mind My little brother's was 7-9 , my daughter's is 8-18, my other brother's is 8-22 and my neice's is 9-4 . when they are young they really dont mind being together .. Its when they get OLDER they want to be separate from everyone..
