Beautiful song by a great band. The Mother Mary that the Beatles are referring to and Paul McCartney is singing of is none other that Mary Mother of God. During their Spiritual phase they wrote some awesome songs this being one of them and the lyric Let it Be was in reference to accepting whatever the Lord had in store for us to just allow it and accept it. Finding peace and solace through God or Mary Mother of God allowed them all to get through the tough times that they faced individually and as a group. By singing it they hoped that people in general would open their hearts and the world would be a better place.
