Has anyone ever seen "the Notebook"? Their life story was pretty much exactly the same as the characters, Noah and Allie. My Opa was a painter and one day as he was painting the very top of the church steeple in a small town in Alberta he saw a beautiful girl walk by below. He called down to her and asked her out, but she said no. She was playing hard to get haha. Finally, after he pursued her for a while, she said yes. Turns out they were meant for each other, fell in love, got married, had children, and as they got older my Oma got Alzheimer's. When their kids couldn't take care of her anymore she was put in a nursing home. Opa went crazy without her, and so finally he moved in with her, even though his health was fine and his family asked him not to. He couldn't stand to be away from his schatzie (sweetheart in German).
At my job, he was checking me out and my friend got his number to give to me.
In a club. I was going out for dinner and she was there with some friends. A mutual friend was sitting at the table with about six girls and I sat next to her. We chatted for a bit, then I went to dinner . . . the friend informed me that she was interested and we went out a few nights later. We met in May and were married in November . . . we've been married for 31 years . . .

About 9 years later I contacted him through myspace to let him know about my brother (he was going to Iraq), and he kept talking to me, we decided on a night for him to come over, and after him coming to see 3 times, he asked me out that night and we're still together to this day. =]
