DEPENDS on how the yard looks if its tall mow it if not then leave it becuz there are other htings you could be doing right

Do it now before it gets really cold.

If it is overgrown nd you want to remain friendly with your neighbors, you better mow it. You will even get a ticket from the city if you live near me.

Mow it once a month. If you let it grow long, it will look just long and fresh but after you cut it, it will go brown for a while.

I mow ours to make it look nice and even for the winter.

Depends on how long your grass is; usually it is best to mow your lawn one last time at the end of fall before the first snow fall. Its bad for the grass to be left too long over winter.

Your lawn should be no longer then 4 inches. Mow it in the fall and leave the leaves and grass sit. I read this on the Tru-green treatments I get on my grass.

Depends how long it is. If it's over three inches I'd mow it now. A good lawn needs to be cut before it goes to seed to keep the turf roots healthy. If it starts growing in spring and you can't get it mowed because it is too wet, you might damage your lawn.
