I usually ask them bizarre questions about donuts and lunchmeat.
get the number they are calling from and go to the do not call list and report their A**...if they continue calling, keep reporting. They get fined for calling people on the list. I have reported several over the last few months and now I am barely getting any calls..thank good ness...Or for fun, ask them what time they have dinner and get the phone number, tell them you will call them back. Or if they ask how is your day been, tell them some long winded wild tail about your day. That has worked for me before and the person hung up on me.

Just pick up and tell them to take you off their list. Or just don't answer.
Pretend you can't hear them, keep saying "hello" & hang up.
I have done the following.
1. Tell them to hold on and then I either hang up or put the phone down.
2. I tell them that the person is dead.
3. Thank god you called, I am about to have sex and was wondering what new positions they suggest.
4. I click over and call the number that comes up on the caller id, when it connects, i hang up.
That is just a few. I make up new ones each time they call.
Say "Give me your number at home and I'll call you back at 3am"!
Two things...
I tell them to hang on and then go back to eat...and don't get back on the phone.
OR
I ask them for their own home phone number so I can call them back after the game or something...they usually hang up.
Tell them your can not talk now but if they leave their number you'll call them right back...funny thing they always hang up on me ?
I usually start talking to them in my native language, or if by some chance they happen to know my language I politely offer them to join me on dinner. :)>
Very quietly hang up the phone. Don't say anything, don't make a sound. Give them....Nothing. It dehumanizes you and kinda spooks them and they never call back.
Plus it saves your energy.
I always ask them what kind of job is it that makes you disturb people, and how lucky I feel that I don't have to do it.
