Well for a guy it's kind of strange. I don't have a problem saying that a man is handsome because lets face it some men are just better looking then others, but saying that he is beautiful or sexy is just weird, to me anyways.

Nope. I have many beautiful friends and they need to hear it. Men say it all of the tme but they say a lot of crap. No offense. Sometimes it means more from a friend.
