No I see no purpose in doing that.
I sometimes misspell because there aren't any letters left on my ketboard keys.
I never try to do it on purpose BUT I dont go back and check my spelling either! This is my fun time- my relaxation time- a place where I can just be me and not have to worry about proper grammar and spelling!!!! I have to do it all day at work so I sure dont wanna do it on here! I have had two people say something about spelling but OH WELL! I can live with it! But I know some r totally anal about it!

I think that would be silly.
I do use short-cuts sometimes (like using "2" instead of spelling out "two" or "to") to save time, but deliberately misspelling is a waste of time.
Especially since there's "check spelling" that proves a person is being deliberate.
