No, smart mouthing was not the thing to do (lol, I didn't get grounded but smacked? Sure did! I watched my sister get soap in the mouth once,and that didn't look pleasant...) and I never even thought about it! I don't think I was abused, I think what they did worked and it should be patented!

I never talked to my parents like the kids do now a days thats the problem with kids today, their parents give them a good spanking or some for of discipline and they cry abuse, obviously I dont condone abuse but a good spank never hurt anyone

yeah when i was little i promised my parents that i would never ever get mad at them or be a rebellious teenager.
Actually, I was abused but I didn't smart mouth my parents like they do now a days. I did backtalk to my parents and typically got beat for it every time. ( I was a little stubborn)

nope. i didnt think that at all until i got a little older, but as a kid i never thought of talking back to my parents.

I was the same way! my mom would have got me good I respected her then and I still respect her today! I'm 28 and wouldn't talk to her now the way some of the kids in my sons kindergarten class talks to their parents

Exactly! I was raised the same way! And there were times I thought I didn't deserve spankings,but I'm glad now that she was hard on me.My mother raised me and my four brothers all alone,and I think she did a pretty good job.None of us smoke,and do not do drugs.
NO! they taught me better than to do that now. but when i was younger i did it a little bit. I was bad kid.
