I'd use it as kindling for my first campfire and keep it going for 365 days, then come back and tell the world that I would have died without that small tool, unless I found something else flammable had I been without it.
I would use voodoo to get you on the island to build me a house, a boat and anything else I might need. You are after all a Jack of all Trades
i'd make the most out of it anyway it's only for a year and i know i won't be there again so why not enjoy it!! and with your photo i'll do what TOM HANKS did with the volleyball in CAST AWAY, i'll make your photo as my companion..i'll talk to your photo so i won't feel alone. :-)
I would have to use what was available on the island to get food, water, shelter, and make myself as comfortable as possible in the circumstances.
I would stick your photo into a tree with thorns, and throw things at it everytime I found myself missing BBC radio 4, as you of course denied me even a radio.
