Question about rescuing a dog from a shelter?!

Question: I understand a 6 page application and having to give references, but is a blood, semen and stool sample really necessary from me?

Damn they make it hard to adopt a dog.

Damn they make it hard to adopt a dog.

when you're approved they'll also want to check your prostate.

i adopted a dog once. i could not believe the questions they wanted answers to.

FOod Dude?

i think now you even have to sign them over your first born real child as well

WTF?!
Just drive down the road and get a free one off the side of the road and consider it rescued. They are going crazy with the pet adoption thing.

lol i know...what kind of dog did u adopt??

Do you resemble Micheal Vick - that could be the problem.

I found our last adoption much easier! Filled out an application on line and they called and said we could pick up the dog! No waiting period or family visits like the first time!

Where have you been food dude?
Back to the ? yes, adopting a dog is a very hard process and if you really want the dog then you'll thru with it, but the blood, semen and stool part I never heard of before.
Good Luck

Yep.... I've gotten two from the pound and it used to be a quick deal, now it's as tough as adopting a child.

As much as I'd like to do it again, I'll be looking for the kids with puppies in front of the safeway store. Those were the days....

LMAO I do know what u mean! 5 months ago we got a kittne from the ASPCA and WOW it took longer to fill out the application then it did to finance my home! Its crazy! I can kinda understand because if the animal came from an abusive home- they dont want it to go to someone who is going to be mean to it BUT r u gonna say- I HATE DOGS on the app? Nope! LOL These animals really need a home and I think the PRICE they want u to pay is even worse! We paid $75 for a kitten for gods sake! But once I saw him i couldnt leave without him!

I was on the list to rescue a chinese crested for YEARS before giving up and putting a deposit down for a puppy. There are still dogs on the available list from before I applied too.

thats just the first test. they also do a full rectum exam
