Poll: The night before, or the day of-when does your family generally start cook!

Question: We get up around the butt-crack of dawn to do the cooking the day of, but we'll do some minor prep the day before.
Which reminds me, I have to make the deviled eggs!!!

"the butt-crack of dawn"! You made me shoot diet coke out my nose! That really burns.
My father in law is well known for his deviled eggs. He makes them the day before, and refrigerates them. That way they get firmed up.
When my parents were still cooking for the family, we would start they day before with the eggs, pies, and most of the veggies (they could be easily reheated.) Then of course Dad would be up early (something about that butt-crack of dawn!) to start the turkey.

most of the time the night before

Night before... but what your family does sound pretty exciting.

The day of! ^_^

It depends how many people we're expecting, but at least by the night before.
This year, we actually plan to start some non-perishables 2 nights before so we aren't still preparing when company comes for once.

i will make the dessert the day before, but everything else gets done the day of.

I season the turkey the night before but thats about it...I like everything fresh so I wake up about 5 to begin my preperations and by 12 everything is done and set on the table. Have a great Thanksgiving!!

What time should I come over, my turkey is still defrosting

Days before....
I do as much as I can ahead of time....
and crock pots are my best friends during the Holidays.
Peace.

The night before I will bake my pies and make the relish trays.
