I don't think a lot of these people are really trying to give a meaningful gift to someone as much as they are trying to be noticed. If I really care about someone, I will take the odd hours today spent in a store and spend them with that person (s).
A great gift is cooking dinner for someone or even going to see a movie with them. We have enough physical things. Most of us have the ability to buy all the appliances or clothing we want or need.
The best thing you can do for me for Christmas is to SPEND some time with me.

Well, if I really want something I get up early to go, but normally,
I just relax.
I did my shopping and I'm already home, now I have to go to work=(
what is black friday? is it like the sales when everything is supposed to be cheaper? if so, no way!
i really cant be bothered to queue for hours with a load of other cheapskates to get something a few quid cheaper!

I stay as far away as possible, not only today, but all the days until Christmas. I avoid that chaos like the plague!
I'm not even looking forward to go to the bank with all the traffic, etc. Yuck!
Nope, I stay the he!! away from that madness!
I stay in the back without a cart so i can squeeze through easily. Then I hand it off to my hubby who has the cart.
As soon as we're done with brunch, I'm out people!
