Firefighters hrepeatedly save lives, their main job is to go out and rescue people in distress. Fighting Fires and risking their own lives in a dangerous environment. Police do a good job in protecting people, but there are so many stories and scandals of police not doing their job, racism, lazines and donut eating. I am not putting the police down, but firemen fight fires knowing they could die everyday!

Both are heroes, my brother is a police officer and he works the narcotic department, he keeps drug dealers off the street, but fire fighters.. they run into a burning building to save someones life, risking their own and may leave behind family, a wife and children... To me they both are.. but Fire fighters is my vote
If I had to pick one, itd be firefighters. Long line of firefighters in my family, id be one if my knees were healthy enough.
I think they are both real heroes though.

You really can't separate the two. Both put their live on the line daily to serve the public. Neither knows if they are going to come home from work each day.

Firefighter have my vote. I agree that both the Police and Firefighters can be heroes. Let's face it, Firefighters are the real heroes. Who else would continually run into a burning building to rescue someone. They are constantly inhaling toxic fumes (smoke and other carcinogenics). I also agree that the Police serve and protect us however, recently, especially here in Canada, there have been several incidents that have been questionable.
How often do you hear of Firefighters abusing their power?

Both are REAL heroes, but my vote goes to FireFighters. I have several neighbors and relatives who are Firemen. And I love the Annual Fireman's Calendar. Those Firemen are absolutely lovely to look at in their skimpy clothes.
Both. Both police officers and firefighters put their lives on the line for others, and both professions don't pay all that well. But I will say this about police officers-- they don't get nearly enough respect for what they do.
I would have to say both, because they put their life on the line everyday...=-)
I'd have to say both. As a matter of fact anyone that helped out was a hero.
