I live in a brand new development. There are people moving in. I am Italian and !

Question: made a chocolate cake. I know the stress of moving. Would you accept my food if I brought over a few dishes and specifically asked for the dishes back or would you think that it's creepy. OR, would you be grateful to my face and ditch the food and return my pyrex? It's in my makeup to be kind and I think welcoming people to the neighborhood is kind! HURRY UP AND ANSWER THIS BEFORE I GO OVER THERE!

I would think that was a very nice gesture and I would accept unless you seemed sketchy or something. I would return your Pyrex clean but not for a day or so because, yeah, it's busy and stressful moving in. Go, kind soul. Feed them.

You can bring me some Bake Ziti any time.

Yes ! of course they would love it .

i think your that is very nice of you. i would eat it, and would have no problem returning your dishes(after i washed them)

Go over and meet them first.

Even if you're nice, you might find out they aren't and not want to bring anything over...

If you do later on, take the food over in aluminum foil or those cheap, disposable "gladware" containers. Then if you don't get them back, no big deal but you have a good idea what the neighbors are like...

GO on over! Don`t be shy. If
they are nice people, they will appreciate your gesture. If not, at least you found out sooner than later.

You are such a warm, friendly person, I would hate to see you rebuffed. Why not just go over and welcome the new people with a visit? Of course, situations alter cases, but in our area I think a nice visit would be much more readily welcomed. It is indeed a sad commentary on our society that we have to be careful. God bless!

Sure, take over something as a nice gesture. Even if they don't actually eat it, most people would appreciate the thought and know that they have a very caring and gracious neighbor. Wish I had one like you!
