Probably because some spiders are posionous, and deadly if they bite you.
Probablly because some of them are poinsonous. Also, they feel pretty strange when they crawl over your skin. Yick! I am a girl and I will admit I hate spiders...not really scared of them, just find them gross.
Your additional comments are not true. Grandaddy long legs are poinsonous.....Look it up....they are probablly one of the most poisonous spiders you will ever meet in the U.S., BUT their mouths are too small to bite you with. Seriously, look it up.

BECAUSE THEY'RE CREEPY, THEIR LEGS ARE LONG, THEY LOOK SCARY WHEN THEY WALK, WHEN THEY LAND ON YOU THEY TICKLE...BUT NOT IN A GOOD WAY...THEY BITE, SOME ARE POISONOUS, SOME ARE FURRY, THEY HAVE TOOOO MANY LEGS!

they have eight super hairy legs, eight disgustingly frightening eyes and one bite from them causes instant death sometimes. It's worse when they're black and have long thin legs, I'll faint if I see one of those.
i hate spiders, except for the fact that they kill mosquito's and flies. if i could trust them not to jump on me then i wouldnt mind them at all. but you never know when one will go crazy and jump on ya! spiders are my arch-nemesis!!!

I think we are brought up to be told they are dangerous ,have sharp fangs and can cause a painful bite. I think also seeing 8 legs instills some type of terror in us.Most are non poisonous.A few are very deadly.The Sydney Funnel Web Spider (Atrax Robustus )is one of the most poisonous Spiders in the world. Fortunately antivenom is available at all Hospitals.
