Well they say a change is as good as a holiday. It will be interesting to see what happens. I certainly didn't want Costello as Prime Minister.

im excited, i think Howard got stale and cared more about Bush than his own people.

Rudd addressed the big issues that Howard just ignored - like the refugee prisons, Kyoto, the troops et cetera - if he follows through it should be great for my aussie friends

A big thumbs up to Australia from Scotland. I followed your election closely (thanks to the ABC Internet coverage) and it looks like a real change for the better for your country.

At least your foreign policy might have some independence again, instead of being set for you from Washington and there'll be some balance restored for the average working person once the Work Choices legislation is removed.

I hope you all wake up to a fairer, more tolerant country than what John Howard created during the last decade.
