The short answer is ~ being in an Intensive Care Unit in Leicester ~ and convinced that I was in a WW2 military hospital somewhere in the Far East (there were a number of Filipino nurses on the unit).
I ''continually'' kept looking towards a window expecting to see an overhead traffic light on a wire in the distance, dancing in the wind. It wasn't there and I was continually disappointed (for some reason), but went on looking.
The time period of this may have been one hour or one or two whole nights or over a period of a week.
It was exhausting work simply trying to survive my condition, but this mental 'illusion' and the accompanying delusions were exhausting too.
