Question: I mean do you do some line of work that causes people to ask you for career related help on your time off as well? Such as mechanic, computer tech.. does it bug you when they do?

i work in childcare.
i get asked for advice and child minding all of the time.
when i go shopping mums will leave their kids with me while they "just pop into another store for a minute".
i don't mind. i love my job, and i've been living this life since 1999, if i didn't love it, i'd quit and do something else :)
It used to.
One of the few advantages of being a security guard - no one has ever asked me to come over and guard their house for them.
yes im a vet nurse and tassie isnt a very big place. everybody knows what i do. and if i walk my dogs or go get petrol im continously get asked questions..
I am a tax professional, but I also work on cars as a hobbie so I do get a lot of questions about both when I am off the clock. It doesn't bother me at all. I like helping others out if I can.
more like i follow my career everywhere... that is the military life!
