Why are majority of Americans "main-stream junkies"?!
Question: I hate it. I'm not saying all, but most Americans don't have respect for fine arts. Such as classical music, fine literature and beautiful pieces of artwork. What is up with this? It really bothers me!

The simple and embarrassing truth is Americans can very easily be manipulated by the media and the fact is most Americans have a hard work schedule with commutes getting worse and benefits going down...People are too busy thinking about their own needs and you really cannot blame them. It is not like we are a third world country here, but when it comes to the arts: lets face it, who ever is at the top of the charts with the hottest selling single --even if you and I know there is not a real instrument on theentire album-- will, with a million dollar marketing plan and a pretty face on the album cover win out every time... I don' t think people don't really appreciate the finer arts: I just don't think they actually get the chance to really get educated and inspired to get beyond their favorite radio station...
They are afraid to be "different. Too worried about what someone else will say or think about them.
it bugs me too, man. seriously.
but there wouldnt be a mainstream if no one liked the type.
unfortunately, this is what we must deal with as American citizens.
