I came up with 217 not sure if it is correct
7 girls times 2 legs each = 14.
7 big cats times 4 legs = 28.
7 times 7 = how many little cats there are = 49
49 times 4 legs each = 196
So, 14 + 28 + 49 + 196 = 287 legs in total.

But, if you take the questions literally then there would be 10990 legs (not counting a busdriver).

49x7 = 343 big cats
x 4 legs per = 1372 legs
343 x 7 little cats = 2401 little cats
2401 x 4 legs per = 9604 legs.

Since cats have 4 legs lets add the 343 and 2401. 2744 Cats total. Times that by 4 and you get 10976. Add that to the 16 legs of humans and you get 10992 legs for the original statement. However if you take away the driver that I added then you will have a grand total of 10992 legs on that bus.

so 10,990 is your answer assuming the question isn't a riddle like'' buses don't have legs'' or something like that. Also you have to consider there may be a driver or othe people on the bus. It all depends.
