no and from my life experience it seems the more people have degrees the stupider they are about life honestly. I used to train restaurant managers when i was just a shift manager and I knew more than them period and some things they just could not learn. too many people make the mistake and hire or promote people based on college degrees. theer are many of us out here that maybe did not have money for school but are still intelligent. I also have a lot of common sense and for me that it most important. I cannot stand an educated fool

right hon and don't let anyone tell you different. my youngest went to college. she is now 26000 still in debt and no jobs in her field. u can b anything u want to b if u set your mind to it. good luck and tx for the Best asnwer Report It

  • it's ALL about the degree now honey

But I bet he can spell psychology and mental correctly. You sound young, very young, who is this friend????

Degrees are certification, they are not an expression of intelligence.

Some people are just not good at relating to others, while for some it comes naturallly. I don't know you, so I can't say for certain if you'd be good at it or not.

You wont get hired, however, if you don't stay in school and work on your spelling and grammer, no matter how good you are with people!

The best people have good background knowledge from studying books and stuff but are also very practical so can apply their knowledge from their books lol or use intuition.

I don't know if it's the same in America ( i assume that's where you're writing from), but in England there's a real problem with prospective employees because the employer cannot differetiate between their high academic achievements and whether they'd be able to put this into practise in a living, breathing workplace.

You have a point that experience is important. However, as a "book smart" person myself, I find that many people who are not as well educated as myself feel the need to criticize me or imply that actually knowing something makes me some kind of freak or weirdo, in order to make themselves feel better because they are insecure about their own lack of education. I've worked very hard to get the education I have and I don't feel the need to be ashamed of it.
Sorry, but in a field like psychology (or sociology...can't tell what you meant by the spelling) someone without proper training could do more harm than good. Your friend may need to brush up on his social skills but that doesn't necessarily mean that because you have good social skills that you would do a better job than he would. I'd rather have an unfriendly doctor that's well qualified than a friendly one who isn't.

yes! i cant teach people hands on they want to read what im teaching!
