UK only: Travellers. Why are they called that when they don't like being mov!

traditionally they did travel, however now (probebly thanks to thatcher and her repressive polices) there are far less places for travellers to travel to without being arrested or moved on by the police. Many of the traditional "sites" in the UK have been permanantly closed and "travellers" have very limited options on where to go.

You can understand why they don't want to get "moved on". Presumably given the choice they'd buy houses, but can't afford them, which is unsurprising given the housing market these days.
I guess they want the moon on a stick. They want a fixed abode, but they don't want to pay the same as everyone else. People don't put with them squatting on their land and stuff, so they have to travel, and go be a problem for someone else.
