Let's burn them all!!

It's a disgrace.!!!

She has been caught up in a game of political football,Shame she ended up in the nick.

She must be incredibly stupid.

My heart goes out to the lady.

heart was probably in the right place... but very naive.

in any foreign country where religion forms the rockbed of that society, you make doubly sure that you avoid all possibilities of causing any offence.. and if in any doubt.. you don't go to a country like that..

which is a shame, because the country loses out on a skilled person willing to contribute to that society.

but.. that's life.

Deportation from there can't be a punishment surely!

I am shocked at that and even moreso she has been sent to jail for 15 days , religion all gone wrong !

It’s about time someone set the record straight here.

1. Images of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) are NOT forbidden in Shia Islam. If this is what Gibbons genuinely intended (which, as a lowly paid expat teacher, I suspect not), then, she has done nothing wrong anyway.

2. I have taught in the Middle East for seven years. Some of my male students are called “Mohammed” – so you can name your son after the Prophet (PBUH), but not a teddy bear? LET”S GET REAL HERE PEOPLE!

3. If the reference to the Prophet was “genuine”, then the original letter home from Ms Gibbons to Sudanese parents should have included the suffix PBUH (Peace Be Upon Him), if it was genuinely meant to be a reference to the Prophet of Allah, Mohammed (PBUH).

Ms Gibbons has been imprisoned unfairly by so-called Sudanese Muslims who have misinterpreted Islam. Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) would not have approved. He believed in religious toleration and was a good man.

If Islam has a problem witha teddybear, then it has fundamental problems within. It is a great religion, but one which is seemingly at odds with itself. I urge any Muslim who remains critcial of Ms Gibbons, to watch the film "The Message" (1976).

I got 2 bears one called tupac and one called 6 pack, is that offensive?

I dont mind being whipped if that is considered an appropriate punishment

It's ridiculous. Of course it took some biotch of a staff member to report her...like to know who that twit was ang flog them a time or two.

Talk about living in the stone ages.

Nice to know another staff member's got your back covered huh?

It seems crazy. I also thought it interesting that they made a statement that should other prophets be insulted such as Jesus and Moses they would act in a similar fashion. Now those who are Christians might get upset by that because Jesus is the son of God and to call him a prophet and therefore mortal is an insult to devout Christians. Was the minister being naive or sending a calculated insult that he knew would not be taken up by a largely secular British government trying diplomacy to attain her freedom?
