Gas stove or electric???I am buying one today!!?!
Question: Definitely gas. I purchased one a couple years ago and am very happy with it. (1) it heats up more quickly; and (2) it disperses heat more evenly and consistently (ie. there's no hot spots or cool spots)

gas,less repairs.
Gas is more dangerous, but the heat is more consistent.
Electric is more convenient and easier to clean.
Personally I would love to have a gas stove, but for me it is not practical.
I would see which one works in your house.

I prefer gas because you can instantly increase and decrease the flame. Gas also tends to have better broilers. Electric is OK if you get the glass top definitely not coils, "talk about messy". If you choose gas I'd make sure you have a gas hook-up. I'm sure you have checked already. If not you'll have to run a gas line. I would suggest the GE Profile brand if it's in the price range you want to spend. Good Luck!

We have had both,the wife said no more electric stoves.
So i guess gas is the best.
