Will you tell me just a paragraph about America?!

Question: Thank you! UK here.

Answers: Thank you! UK here.

At one time, I traveled a lot here in the US and got a taste of the different cultures, values, beliefs from different parts of this country.

In the interest of not writing a novel , however, I'll keep my observations, comments strictly here to the Tennessee area of the country.

To start with, here in Middle Tennessee, it's referred to as "God's country" because of the beautiful mountainous scenario, the Cumberland Plateau, and the Nashville Basin.
MOST people here are down to earth people, with strong family values. Traveling east, from here, you'll encounter the Cumberland Plateau, which is quite isolated, and a place I thoroughly love to take a drive through when I just need the serenity and solace of nature to recharge my spirit. It's my favorite part of this area due to my Cherokee heritage, and I'm reminded of the hardships they endured upon there forced march from souther Georgia to Oklahoma when they were forcefully relocated by the US government.

Swing through the Northeast of the state and you'll encounter the Appalachian mountains as you approach the NorthCarolina/Virginia border. Wow, at the scenary. Words can't even begin to describe it.

Travel Southeast from here and you'll cross through Sequatchie Valley which will literally take your breath away.

MOST people here are very friendly, and you'll constantly get the "hello, hands up greeting" when you meet an oncoming motorist.

Traveling West, the landscape flattens out and not much to see until you hit the Memphis area.

I was stationed there for over a year while I was serving in the Navy and TOTALLY loved the city, surrounding area and wading in the Mississippi. I was TOTALLY dumbstruck you can wade almost halfway across the Missisippi in water not over chest deep! Weird feeling being out in the middle of a grand river such as that over a 1/4 mile from shore and STILL in only wastdeep water.

Just North of Memphis is Reelfoot Lake. A lake formed at the turn of the century by a major earthquake here which is full of cypress trees and some of the best bass fishing in the whole Southeast. Haven't visited there yet, but it is on my list of places to visit ASAP. Maybe this next Summer? One can surely hope can't they!

LOTS of streams, rivers and lakes in the whole state too. Which offers a whole host of water acitivities such as boating, water skiing, fishing, and swimming.

kk....my "paragraph" is over.

Take care my friend!

you have to see it to beleive it.

Just a paragraph about America

i live here.
umm..

xD

The preamble of the constition.

America is pretty cool.We have to be 21 to drink beer, and we use dollar instead of pounds(i think pounds are UK,right?).And to drive a car we must be 16 or 18,depending what state. We have a president that most people dislike(including me).I want to use Celsius instead of Fahrienheit, too. And the metric system!

We've got a little bit of everything here - ocean beaches, lakes, big cities, mountains, wide open spaces, deserts, small towns, forests, etc. We're a varied people with various traditions and cuisines.
I had cousins from Sweden once who came to NYC for a conference and made a side trip to Virginia - - it was about a 10 hour drive and they were surprised at how large this country is.
:o)

While. There are a lot of places to see. Washington DC the capital. The Statue of Liberty in New York. The Grand Canyon in Arizona. All the theme parks all over the USA. The beaches in Hawaii are to die for. The snow in Alaska. The malls!!! All the movie stars most of them in California. The tours of famous singers. Great TV shows like Friends, Gossip Girl, and many more. We have a bit of everything here. big cities, small cites, mountains, beaches, grass lands, lakes, and deserts . You name it and we have it. There are a lot of different kinds of people here too. Different religions and races. We have a President and drive on the left side of the car. But you need to see it to believe it. You can like at pictures on the web. Go to www.google.com and type in something like Statue of Liberty.

What is the UK like?

Nowadays it is an embarrassing place to live. Our government has its nose in everybody's business but our own. The arrogance that "our way is the best way and the only way" has to be stopped. The average American is a good-hearted, concerned person but has been brainwashed into the capitalist "anything for a buck" attitude.
Bungle in the jungle...that's us!!
Hail Britannia!
