lol

To be honest Fred... my little fire cracker... I have never kept a total... is it a man thing ... counting them... lol

Jen xx

My gf says too much, I say I fart too little :)

Depends on what I have been eating

afternoon fred depends what ive eaten or drank i suppose have never counted a single days trumping might give it a go one day

OMG, so many I can't even count. I have gas all day long. Must be the medication I'm on in combination with the food I eat. They're loud and half the time they stink really bad. LOL

I had some extra garlic on my Pizza last night. I should be good fo about 30 really stank ones!

Strangely enough, I didn't count them.

Too many to keep count.

I'd say about 5-6 a day. I lose track.

Girls dont fart what are you talking about :S:S

ive never farted ^o) lmao

GEEz fred! I've never counted. But a Dr. told me once the average is 14 times per day. Lol Funny, as I answer this Scooby Doo the movie is on and that's the part that's on. Lol

--------------- FLATULENCE ---------------

Explanation:
Flatus is expelled from the anus to alleviate gas build-up in the lower intestine. This gas is a mixture of exogenous gases (swallowed), and endogenous (produced as a by-product of digestion).

Composition:
Nitrogen (ingested) (20-90%); hydrogen (produced by microbes) (0-50%); carbon dioxide (ingested/produced by aerobic microbes) (10-30%); oxygen (ingested) (0-10%); methane (produced by anaerobic microbes) (0-10%).

Animal Flatus:
Herbivorious grazing animals (such as cattle, sheep, and horses), swallow more air when they eat than most other animals, and hence why they fart more. However, they also have low-sulphur diets, and therefore their flatus tends not to smell. Dogs, and cats, on the other hand, have higher-sulphur diets, and consequently have smellier flatus.

Noise:
Fart noises are caused by the vibration of the anal sphincter as gas passes out. The volume and length of noise is determined by the amount of gas ready to come out, and the shape, taughtness, and size of the schincter. Cattle and horses tend to fart for longer and on a louder scale than humans; in turn humans tend to fart more noisily than cats and dogs.

Food Causes:
Flatus-inducing foods are generally: (a) those that are high in the complex carbohydrates called polysaccharides, e.g.., beans, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, cashew nuts, cauliflower, dairy produce, garlic, leeks, lentils, oats, and radishes; (b) those that are high in fructose or sorbitol, e.g., apples, artichokes, onions, pears, peaches, and sugar-free gum, sweets, and drinks.

Beans:
The reason bean consumption tends to cause more gas, is down to the fact that they are very resistant to break-down by the body, but readily digestible to bacteria that live in the digestive tract. As the bacteria prefer an undigested food source, they feed particularly well on the beans; as a result there is a larger than usual production of endogenous gas.

Lactose Intolerance:
People with lactose intolerance have low levels of lactase in the intestines. Lactase is the enzyme that metabolises lactose (the sugar found in dairy products). Without lactase the lactose can’t be broken down and absorbed into the bloodstream, and so it remains in the intestines and is fed on by intestinal (enteric) bacteria. This unnatural break-down causes large amounts of gas, and results in stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhea and flatulence for those affected. The condition is most prevalent in people from tradionally low dairy consumption cultures, hence why people from east Asia, and sub-saharan Africa are more likely to be sufferers.

Average Frequency:
The average person farts around 14 times per day (including when they’re asleep).

sorry i don't count

I don't know but I'm thinking about making my dogs go outside because they can't seem to stop passing gas. It's horrible.
