When should I tell my daughter....?!

Question: ...that her daddy is a transsexual?

Answers: ...that her daddy is a transsexual?

"You know how much you love mommy, right? Well how would you like to have two?"

when she is old enough to know

Umm......no. I think you should keep it to yourself.

when she is old enough to understand what that means

Not at all -- she will figure it out for herself sooner or later. :)

If she's under 10 or 12 I'd say as soon as possible.
Little kids are more accepting than older ones.
If she's pubescent then this kid probably knows or has suspicions already.
If this is accepted behavior in your family then I don't think keeping secrets removes any of the stigma.
Good luck and I wish you all peace and happiness.

As soon as you can.

Keeping something as big as this a secret from your children is a tremendous strain, not just on you, but also on the children; Kids KNOW when there's something they're not being told, and they either assume that it's something they've done wrong, or assume you don't care about, or trust, them enough to tell them.

If you need help coping with being a transsexual parent (or being married to/partnered with one), there's some useful advice here; http://www.lasimpson.org/PARENTS.html

when you all go out for a family weekend and she asks: "mom? who the hell is she?"
