Don;t you think peope are stupid because CCTV could stop trouble?!

Question: In my last employment monitoring evening CCTV we had the ability to correct street offenders by loudspeaker and had written guidelines like "Excuse me, micturating in public is an offence. The nearest urinal is on Moss Street next to the Library" On his shift, my colleague who I can't name, it's unpronounceable anyway, said he used to call out to groups of girls coming out of the Rat and Parrot and say "Hi girls" which is not on the card. He claims that some girls mooned at his camera and he says "Nice one" in reply. My point is that you lose authority messing about like this and people will just ignore you in the end and ruin the experiment which was all it was and they haven't extended it because of my colleague.

your story exactly sums up why cctv is not necessarily a good thing
if it was used to prevent crime by reponsible operators then we might look at it with a different attitude
if you put voyeurs in charge, whats the point of having an experiment, its not going to succeed is it?
