Your not well. You got a really bad case of gastric -enteritis and it is contagious.
you dont need an excuse, that is reason enough
if you're driving down say your car is in need of repair eg. brakes needs replacing.
Or try the usual one of you dont feel too well, you're coming down with a bad cold or you could just say somethings come up and you cant make it

Just say that you have to help your mum or have to do your Christmas shopping and this is the only weekend you have in order to get it all done
