How about forms of punishment?!

Question: ...we HAD to watch Lawrence Welk the entire show if we acted up. ha ha now I enjoy seeing the old shows.

IF we did something wrong, dad would say he would handle it when we got home.....he never forgot either!!!

If I misbehaved I had to read 5 chapters of the Bible

just the words, wait till your father gets home was enough.

No, I had to watch Ed Sullivan But I sure loved that little mouse!

If my brother was really bad or hit us girls we got to pick out a dress and a slip for him to wear ! LOL! That was fun for us

Punishment received when I was a child was unescapable and frightening. I received punches, kicks, struck with objects like the frying pan, boot, wire clothes hanger, dishes, wide thick leather belt, broomstick. I swear my Mom was probably hearing that song in her head "I said Whip it! whip it good!"

Lawrence Welk... was that the longest hour of all time or what?
I got grounded a lot. My folks didn't realize that the quiet time allowed me to focus and my plan for world domination.

If we were bad at the grocery store, my mom would say in a very calm voice, "If you keep this up, we'll leave and you'll have to explain to your dad why we don't have food in the house." That shut us up pretty quickly. What is it with threatening kids with daddy's wrath?

We also had a "goodie" at night after dinner but before bed. It was a scoop of ice cream or cookies and milk or a popsicle (you get the idea.) Any time we were bad, we didn't get to have the "goodie."

I hate to sound like a goody goody, but I was rarely ever punished. I pretty much always did what I was told and my Mom and I usually got along really well. On the few occasions that I did disobey she would usually take something away that would hurt like phone, TV, or going out on the weekend.

I rarely got punished. I once in a while got time out.

DAD was a magical word in those days. You never wanted to mess with him.

I would give anything today just to hear him yell again.

Oh I hated that show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A onea a twoa a threea!!!!! LMAO! That was punishment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have rather had my butt kicked!!!!!
