Personally, sometimes I think it's pretty smart of them. I would do it if I was on contestant row.
not at all, that assures you that you win when you do that. the last person is supposed to bid one dollar higher than the highest bid, and most of the time they win. if i was on there i would do the same thing!

I think it would bother me if I was on the show and someone did this to me- I'd be a little ticked. But that's the name of the game- getting the price right...or the closest.

I agree, its way out of control. I wouldn't be suprised if they changed the game slightly, too many people are doing it nowadays.
Bob Barker retired, that's why they brought in Drew Carey. i don't find a person bidding one dollar higher than the previous bidder and winning annoying because it's strategical. they're banking on the other people's bids being too low, same goes for the ones that bid one dollar, they're hoping that everyone bids too high.
Yes, I hate that. I have been watching the show on and off for like 15 years and I have always hated it. Even if they don;t win it is annoyiing. And yes they changed the host because Bob Barker retired. I think Drew Carey is normally funny, but not in that show!
Hey, when dealing with numbers, accuracy counts. Yeah, it sucks for the other guy but the name of the show is "The Price Is Right" Not "Give Or Take A Dollar"
They changed the host because the old one retired after many many years...The ones that bid one dollar over the last person, or the player that only bid $1.00 drive me crazy...they were picked from all those people as being the most enthusiastic, but get up front and bet $1.00...sit down and let someone else play, PLUZZZZE!
If I was on that show and lost because of a jerk doing that I would probably run on stage and punch them in the face then run away. Those people don't deserve to win.
No, that's how the game goes.
No they are at least averagely smart.
Anyone with any 'smarts' would use that system.
When you are a contestant, you are there to win as are the other contestants.
There's no sense to doing something dumb because it might 'appear' to be the 'fairest' thing to do.
It has nothing to do with 'cheating.'
