This comes as no surprise to me. Back when I lived up in Chicago's Rogers pk. neighborhood, squirrels would mug folks carrying bread, popcorn, nuts or candy on a fairly routine basis.
Laugh if you will, but until you feel a tug on your pants leg and see a squirrel ready to swarm up the inside if you don't pony up, you're really not in a position to understand.
