Do you judge a person's intelligence by how they write on Yahoo answers?!

Question: Meaning, do you assume that when people abbreviate (or do the intentional misspellings like "kewl" and "n e 1"), make nonsensical sentences, don't spell check, or use no punctuation, do you brush them off as morons and skip to the next question? I'm guilty- what do you think?

Hahaha
Yeah, i do.

usually, but that's how i write, so who am i to judge.

i think there's a difference between just typing too fast and actually not knowing how to spell tho.

and if you can't form a coherent sentence, why are you on here in the first place???

Somewhat. I don't really get why someone would intentionally misspell words. I brush it off if it's damn near impossible to read.

I wouldn't call them "morons", but to me, it is important to spell and use punctuation correctly...

Yep. Really, how difficult is it to form an intelligible sentence? The public schools have failed us...

To an extent, if it's the abbreviations I think they are lazy or maybe not, it takes longer to type out all those intentional misspellings than regular. Either way it makes me think they are still teenagers. Misspellings, grammatical errors and punctuation I (try to) blow off, English isn't everyone on here's first language.

No I am usually intrigued to see where they are heading with their line of questioning. Although it does boggle the mind at some of the spelling errors on here but not everyone can spell I guess! :)

not at all

Abbreviations and intentional mispellings are fine. What is scary is the unintentional mispellings and the people who cant even come close to a coherent sentence. There are often questions on Y/A that make no sense at all.

lol no ppl r diff in rl :P

I am always guilty so Yes.

Nope.-.Never judge a book by it's cover.....

not really, its more about the question they make the way they do it that make you think they are stupid

Yes, sometimes.

No i don't because not everybody is fluent in English and it is easy to make a mistake

i never use puctuation..but i do spell correctly...very few slip by me..but there are some who cannot spell..and the sad thing is ..my own kids are missing spelling skills as well and i dont think that it is they are stupid i think the school systems in america are failing

nope but i judge them on how they look :P

nope. i never do that. i only watch questions which interest me.
