Do you like old horror movies or recent horror movies?!

Question: I like movies from the late 90s and 2000s better, because they're so much more realistic and scarier than a guy running around in a mask, like in those 1960s movies.

Answers: I like movies from the late 90s and 2000s better, because they're so much more realistic and scarier than a guy running around in a mask, like in those 1960s movies.

The recent ones. They're done more realistically and comes up with a better plot. Old ones are more like obviously done on stage, characters make up and effects are too exaggerated, and their stories are quite predictable and stereotypical.

old ones are better

Classics are best...but i like new ones for the special effects.

I do too, I like the up to date because of the special effects.

The old ones, like Friday the Thirteenth, Night of the Living dead.

i love it, i remember me watching them when since i was 8-10 years old

horror movies
love it
no matter of releasing year
old or new
love it
specially vampire movies

old ones - such as Tales From the Crypt, Child's Play,
Leprechaun, Freddy Kreuger, and Friday the 13th

I hate horror movies full stop. I'm never again putting myself through one.

I think the old, really old school, like Hitchcock era-old, had more of a psycological edge on the very technical over-special FX-d new ones

I'm sorry !! Maybe none just do'nt come to mind at the momment !?! Oh,' wait I think the oldest SO0o,'called "SCARY~Movie that "I" liked ALOT that I guess came out in the LATE~LATE 1960's!?! that I can think of that's roughly a guess!?! Only because I do'nt re`call the years`'z'` they'd been made`. & in the 1980's I watched these particular movies MANY TIMES !! which mostly was [NIGHT of The Living~Dead]&Friday the 13th.!! mainly prts <2,3 & 4> along with a few hand-fulls of other different scary movies!!I've seen a few mid & late made movies that was said to be scary !!& some of them they should've stopped when some of the actors/actresses pulled up in the parking-lot !!! ;-{} Maybe I just did'nt see as`many as I could've!?! <btw> I've seen many old B&W scary movies that was'nt that bad !!... <I suppose you may've guess that I'm a fan of many SCARY MOVIES> I've got tO0 much to say on or about this subject !! So I'll just stop now !! `'R"r,r`r.r',r`.'-

"because they're so much more realistic and scarier"

Here is the problem - modern cinema has ruined things for you. Hear me out.

When you read a book, the author's words only partly describe a scene, allowing your imagination to fill in the blanks. When you let your brain actually work and allow your imagination to run wild, it's 100 times more horrifying than Carpenter's best work. This is why you always hear people say "the book was better than the movie." Duh. It's because your BRAIN was doing the work, it wasn't being done for you.

Older movies are like this - the good ones anyway - they only gave you hints of the horror and let your mind fill in the blanks.

Cinema today does it best to leave nothing to the imagination - so it's only natural you'd consider old cinema cheesy and fake, because you're used to having the movie do all the work for you.

We've lost a lot this way, I still find old movies and their values enjoyable over a 50-gallon bloodfest gross-out.

I like them all. The scariest movie I saw as a kid was Salem's Lot...I too like the special effects, but some of the movies today just aren't scary
