Well, I'm a musician, recording artist and editor: but since I don't know these bands or the song(s?), I would like to know if the mix has two DIFFERENT songs or the SAME song- are they overlapping or fading in and out?

If they are fading in and out, like trading off in volume, you can do that with a simple recording program, like Adobe Audition. You would import each track, send them to the multi-track feature, set your volumes to bring one track up and the other down simultaneously, and Voila! This would work whether the songs are different or the same.

Now, if by chance they are overlapping different songs and sections, you can do that in a similar manner with the program mentioned above. Actually, you can do that in most audio recording programs and also in many video editors. It would be a bit more time consuming, tho -- especially if there are any variations in pitch and tempo. I'd probably first get them side by side in the multi-track, and then adjust tempo to match, and pitch, if necessary. These programs make it all pretty simple to do, actually.

Once you get the sound the way you want it, simply export the final mixdown into whatever player you choose. I personally like Adobe Premier Pro for syncing audio and video in a really slick way. But that software is really expensive, and Adobe tends to get a bit convoluted in their often needless complexity, so....MovieMaker might do a decent version for you...there are more programs out there to explore. Bottom line, I assume, is you want to blend your tracks to suit you. It really is as simple as turning one up and one down, then switching them back and forth. If I am totally off base here, apologies. My day for knowing every band and every song is long over...haha!

If you don't receive an adequate answer, you can email me with more details and I will try and help you out.

Hey, Gang, be nice here -I did the best I could with what info I had...so, sue me! (LOL) But just don't flame me.... :)

You will need three devices. Two to play the songs in order to stop and start and one to record. Preplan where you want to start and stop. It will involved several tries to get it right and then a last step to smooth it out from any choppyness involved.
