Go find the breaker pannel and flip the main so he thinks the power went out. You will be on your way home in no time

Wow that sounds nice. Hopefully you live far from the office - your chances of getting to leave soon are better.
At the company I work for, the building could be on fire and we'd still be here working. One time the building lost power for most of the day on an extremely cold day, and we stayed the duration. It was awful.
Tell him that some people aren't very good at driving in the ice, and the earlier you leave the more likely people are to get home safe (as in, not stuck in traffic).
I am at home today due to icy roads (school closing) So I got the day off. But now I'm stuck here with 2 kids w/ cabin fever!!!
Be careful what you wish for...
Well, if any of your coworkers live far away or in somewhat rural areas then that would be a good incentive...especially if the roads are icy. If there's snow then some areas don't get plowed very well, if at all & that makes things dangerous. Safety first!! We've got coworkers like that...some are in rural areas far from here & some are in the city which is an hour away...and that's pre-stuck-in-traffic time too!
Can your boss talk to ours?? I'd like to go home....we've got a thick coating of ICE on all plant-life & cars around here. It took me twice as long to defrost my car this morning in order to get it de-iced enough to be able to see to get to work. The high today is only supposed to be 33 degrees. UGH!!
yes tell him there will be a HUGE lawsuit if he waits too late to let you go and you have an accident.
it might be safer to stay until they get the roads salted and it starts to melt some, if possible.
if it looks like it's only bound to get worse and worse i would push that
