Give me the "good ol' days over today anytime. Back then, everything was simpler, families were close, not killing each other. As kids, there was always something to do, without having to go to jail afterwards. I miss those days awful.

i do when i think of my family members that are gone

I'm a big baby, I cry at the slightest little thing, everybody thinks I'm nuts, but I just can't help it...

yes.i moved out of home when i was 18.i even moved into a different state.now i long for the family Christmases with my mom and all my brothers and sisters.
now i am 31 and catch myself crying when i watch certain Christmas cartoons, the ones we used to watch as a family.
like Nester the long eared donkey, especially when the mother dies so Nester can live.

i remember going to my Granny's house and have my whole family come over and we would eat good southern food and open gifts and just be with each other. it was always so fun and loud.

it hasn't been the same since she passed away and i moved away. i will be there next season!!!

I do! I remember growing up in my grandmothers house with santa coming for a visit. Also being in the city and drinking hot cocoa while going to see the tree, now it's a tourist trap $15 hot cocoa and you cant even get near the tree...

Yes, I just never show it!

Just really little things remind me of childhood, a simpler, happy time.

Things such as smells or music or something can bring back so many memories, and set me off!

It's so strange, but comforting at the same time.

Thank you for asking that question, was really interesting :)

yeah, i remember my father.. he's dead for two years now..
i always cook pasta (spaghetti) for him every christmas.

Yeah, it makes me miss my Grandma. All her children would go to her house for Chrismas dinner and gifts. We would all gather around the tree and I would always be the one to play Santa, which meant you were the one to hand out the gifts to everyone. The food was soooo good and there was a ton of it - like at THanksgiving. Now I hardly ever see my cousins anymore! Stinks huh?

I remeber when i was younger and we'd have the whole family around.

One Christmas my mother yelled that Christmas was canceled because I didn't clean my room....and it was canceled. The year after that I got encyclopedias and nothing else!!!

Yes I do. Going out into the woods and cutting down our own tree was something I would look forward to. Mom in the kitchen for weeks baking cookies, cakes, homemade breads, fruit cakes, rum balls, going to see Santa, Shopping at Sears (one of the few large super stores of that time). Going out with friends, Christmas Caroling.
The pace today is just too fast and there isn't time to just be ourselves.
