Oh boy have I. My downfall was alcohol. Especially when I lost my mate of 13 yrs. I just totally lost it. Didn't care if I lived or died. My son was messed up to because that was the only father he ever knew. Between the 2 of us I was the worst. His friends would come over and I'd get drunk as all he**. They provided the alcohol and I drank til I passed out and couldn't remember what I did or said.@ yrs. after I lost my mate is when I got involved with my husband of today. He was a god send for me. He saw the potential of a good person under it all and stuck by me through thick and thin. I quit drinking about 7 mo. after I met him and now I have an occasional drink at a special party (wedding, Christmas party) like that. It's weird because now the smell of alcohol actually gets me sick. If we eat out we won't go to a bar-restaurant so the smell doesn't get to me. If it weren't for him I know I would have wound up in the hospital physic ward or dead by now. So yea, very self destructive course I was able to pull away from with the help of loved ones.

for 40 years i drank and drugged but now i'm clean and sober thanks to God
Never...but I wonder why those kind of people just dont stick a fork through their hearts. It seems less costlier
years ago when I was young and stupid....and I really didnt go down that path for long
Oh yes, there have been times when I wanted to kill myself and I had hit rock bottom.

Oh yes I have. It was a bumpy path that was hard to get off of, but I made it. I disassociated myself with those who were on it with me and never looked back.
Yes, let me tell you though Jesus shure didn't let it last long. He woke me up big time with a bad trip. I am very thankful though. Because with out Him saving me, I really dont even want to think where I would be right now.
Yes and take it from me life is much better on the other path.

yep..... 4 yrs of ma life, phew...... a long time for me to be lost..... jumped on the drug train and didnt wana get off.....
Drank like crazy in the 90s, it lead to criminal damage and a police record... took myself 5 years to get my act together, after I lost friends, true love, a job and a home.... nows theres a light at the end of the tunnel....
i sure have.i was into anything that got me high.now i am almost 18 mos clean and sober and loving life more than ever.i did it by going thru a christ centered drug treatment program in dalton ga.i would't trade the way i am for anything in the world.
The past 7 months have been some of the most carnal of my life.
Everything was just going really well and then I just fell off the wagon of life. I just don't know how to get back on.

Not personally but apparently it is as common at the beginning as it is being close to succeeding. Quit wile your ahead if you can.
