A mix plate from Phil's Barbecue here in San Diego. It includes two very large beef ribs slathered in a spicy, yet sweet, tangy sauce. Some boneless chicken strips slathered in the same sauce. A side of nice crispy, delicious cole slaw and some oh so cheesy macaroni and cheese. Then to wash it all down a nice, cold, frosty bottle of Stone Ale.
Sirloin Steak in a butter-wine (my favorite wine to use is blackberry merlot) sauce, topped with diced tomato and various peppers (green peppers, red pepper, orange pepper, yellow pepper--for flavor and amazing color).
While it is cooking and the juices from the meat mix with the melted butter and wine, a sauce is made that is just slightly spicy and very flavorful. I immerse the steak in the sauce (complete immersion to maintain tenderness and juiciness), and then poor it over the done steak right before I serve it. A side of roast potatoes with the same sauce and add a glass of Sangria wine, and you've got my recipe for the best meal (especially for a cozy date at home).
Afterwards, dessert. Any dessert you'd like. But if I may suggest, I taste great with strawberries; and it looks like you do, too.
