Ever had to break bad news to your friend?!
Question: i was talking to a new friend at work and somehow our social security numbers came up. i know that the first 3 numbers in the SS# determine what state you were born in (or at least what state issued it). her ss# didn't match our states, so i told her that she wasn't really born in our state and that she should find out if she is adopted or why her parents were lying about where she was born. that was very weird.

That **** is seriously mind bending. (if it's true). I once had to tell a friend that he had a drinking problem, and that i should finish off his bottle of Jonny Walker. He didn't listen (damn)
I sure hope you know this for a fact.
I have had 3 children and they all have different first 3 digits in their SS cards and they were all 3 born in the same state.
In fact my oldest daughers ss(first 3 digits), match my number and I was born in a different state then her!
