Why do people say Amy Winehouse is so talented?!
Question: Ok I love her songs to bits apart from f**k me pumps, but I don't understand why everyone says she is soooo talented-I like her voice because it is mellow and unique but I wouldn't say she is a great vocalist like Mariah or Whitney. Also if she writes her own songs than I would say she is a good lyricist. What do you think?

I think people are taken in by her voice, which is very different to mainstream music out there and when something is different and enticing, people generally call it talent. I do think she writes her own songs as well and that is a talent in itself as not everyone can write songs.
I don't say that.? I think she sucks and I am appalled that she got nominated for 6 Grammys.
her voice is unique and she has talent but your right, its not something out of this world. It just suprises me how she can controll that man voice of hers into something musical. And i didnt like her CD, Back to Black, except for a couple of songs.

She's just unique I guess. People are probably bored with mainstream artists, so when someone new and different arrives, they're interested/intrigued.
