Why are Old men so interessting to speak to in the pub?!

Life experience. AND when the booze starts flowing people kinda become the 'new best friend' until you wake up the next day and realise you have made plans to meet them again that night - noooooooo!!!!!!!
So true. I love talking to old people. They always have such wonderful stories to tell.
I only wish I'd had the time to talk properly to my grandad who spent loads of time in some very exotic places during the war.
Because they were born into a society that taught politeness, patience, and tact. Older people have experienced life, and have arrived at a point where there is no point in rushing. Today we live in a society that is non-stop, we continually rush about like headless chickens. Our generation will do this until we are old, in my opinion.

I used to work as a carer for the elderly and i love to hear all about their lives, Ive heard some amazing things, some very sad things and some incredible tales of survival and strength through adversity
Never underestimate oap's, and never write them off as just old people
their experiences are worth listening to
They've been there, and done that. They've seen, and probably done, everything. They have probably been hanging at the pub for many years, so have some mighty interesting tales to tell.
I used to tend bar...I so much more enjoyed working the day shift (when all the older guys were there), than the night shift (when all my friends were there). I just enjoyed myself so much with the older guys...they always had jokes to tell, were extremely polite to me, and got me into going to the race track!!

Probably because they have had a lot of interesting experiences, are capable of holding an interesting conversation & trying to get their end away comes a long way down on their list of priorities.
They have lived live and are soooo funny! Especially Irish ones! They have time for anybody!
because of all there experiences throughout there life it was so different in there younger times i am amazed by them i can remember my grandmother having 3 jobs as my grandfather had heart problems, and she had to be the breadwinner they didn't have washing machines Central heating telly and yet they never complained.
coz theyve been there, done that, and have the shrapnel to prove it
